GAA 

Intermediate Football Championship

Rockchapel will play Mitchlestown in the IFC next round on Sunday 12th August in Churchtown.

 

Evening Transport

A new evening time Community Transport service will operate in the Rockchapel/Meelin/Taur/Newmarket areas commencing on Saturday, July 28th.  The service will also include transport to Mass both in Rockchapel and Meelin on alternate Saturdays.  It is open to everybody and free travel passes are accepted or €5 adult return fare without a travel pass.  For further information one may contact the Local Link office in Fermoy on 025-51454 or bookings on 086-8259024. Or notice on Church notice board. 

 

Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park
Bus will leave Meelin at 7am, Newmarket at 7.10am, Lismire at 7.25pm and Kanturk at 7.40am. Cost for bus is €15 per person. Money can be paid to Fr. Stritch before Friday,17th August. The bus will stop for refreshments at Barrack Obama Plaza.
It is advisable to bring your own packed lunch and water.

 

15th August – Feast of Assumption mass in Rockchapel will be at 9.00 p.m. followed by procession to grotto and rosary. 

A meeting will take place to make arrangements for same in the Sacristy, Thursday at 8.45 p.m.

 

Gaelic Sunday – Meelin GAA will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gaelic Sunday (1918 – 2018)  on this Sunday, 5th August commencing with a parade from Meelin Village at 11.45 a.m. to the GAA grounds.  At the GAA grounds we will celebrate with La Na gClub commencing at 12.00 Noon with different activities for both young and old – face painting, long puck competition, etc.  Refreshments will be served.  Everyone welcome.  Events should conclude at approx. 1.30 p.m.  

 

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Persons: The Diocese has a Safeguarding Committee made up of lay people and priests to ensure that the Standards of the Safeguarding Children Policy are met and applied in Parishes in the Diocese.  The procedures are there to ensure that the policy is followed, they can be found on the website www.safeguardingchildrencloyne.ie.  This website contains the procedures and forms that need to be completed in working with children.  The Policy Document for Vulnerable Persons is available on www.cloynediocese.ie and the forms needed are those in the Safeguarding Children forms.
