Friday next is the First Friday.  The sick will be visited at the usual times.  Thursday morning mass in Rockchapel and Saturday morning mass in Meelin will be offered as November masses for the dead.


Cemetery Mass - The annual Rockchapel Cemetery mass will take place on Friday July 6th at 8.00 p.m.

Rockchapel Community Council - invite you to attend the official opening of our new footpath project which extends from Graveyard to L5002 (Stacks garage) on 2nd July at 7pm. Two representatives from Knocknacummer windfarm will be in attendance on the night.


Visit of Pope Francis for World Meeting of Families 2018 - Should there be sufficient interest, a bus will be booked from the parish to enable people to attend the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, August 26th. Please submit your name and postal address as soon as possible (NB On or before Monday, July 9th) to Fr Denis Stritch at 68007 or 086-2206607. Please note – If you are travelling by bus with a parish group, a place is automatically booked for you to attend Pope Francis’ Mass ie. There is no need to book the Phoenix Park separately.


Cloyne Diocesan Changes July 2018 – Bishop William Crean has accepted the resignation from the following coming into effect at noon on 7th July 2018 – V. Rev. Richard P. Browne, P.P. Cill na Martra & Rt. Rev. Msgr. Eamonn Goold, P.E. as Vicar General.  Bishop Crean has made the following appointments in the Diocese of Cloyne with effect from noon 7th July 2018

Rev. Joseph O’Mahony, C.C., Macroom to be Adm. Cill na Martra.

Rev. Paul Bennett, C.C., Mallow to be CC Blarney.

Rev. Tom Naughton, C.C., Charleville to be CC Mallow.

V. Rev. Canon Anthony, O’Brien, PP Mallow, to be Vicar General.

V. Rev. Canon Jim Killeen, P.P. Middleton,  to be Vicar General.

The Bishop welcomes the establishment of a community of Sisters from “Servant of the Home of the Mother” who will be based in Mitchelstown and also a community of Priests and Brothers also from the Servant of the Home of the Mother” who will be based in Mallow.  For immediate future it will be a feature of Diocesan Changes that unfortunately some parishes will not have a resident Priest.
