The American Legion - Sunday, 3rd February marked the 76th anniversary of the sinking of the United States Army Transport Dorchester and the selfless acts of 4 Army chaplains aborad. The Dorchesterda tragically sunk while crossing the North Atlantic, transporting troops to an American base in Greenland. Many of the survivors owe their lives to the courage and leadership exhibited by 4 chaplains Reverend George Fox, Jewish Rabbi Alexander Goode, feverend Clark Polingand Father John Washington, who comforted the wounded and directed others to safety. As the Dorchester san, the chaplains were seen linked arm in arm, praying. A mass will take place in Rockchapel next Saturday morning, 23rd February to honour these men. Refreshments will be served in Bruach Na Carraige afterwards and everyone is very welcome. 
 
Mountcollins Bingo - A Community Centre fundraiser for Mountcollins will take place in Mountcollins Community Centre on this Sunday, 17th February at 3.00 p.m. Spot Prize of €2,000. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
