Ash Wednesday – Wednesday next is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent and a day of fast and abstinence.  Ashes will be blessed and distributed at both evening masses.  Trócaire boxes are available in the porches.

Defibrillator Celebrations

Rockchapel/Knockaclarig Defibrillator group are celebrating its 10th year in operation on a voluntary 24/7 basis and would like to invite everyone to a celebration and information day on Saturday, 17th February 2018 in Rockchapel Community Centre at 1.00 p.m. 

Rockchapel National School - Enrolments are currently being taken for new entrants for the school year beginning in September 2018. Parents/guardians who wish to enrol children in Rockchapel N.S. for next September are asked to contact the school Secretary/Principal on 029 69129 to receive an enrolment pack.

Cronin School of Irish Dancing - Irish Dancing classes will take place in Rockchapel Community Centre, every Monday and Thursday evenings at 3.30 p.m.  For more enquiries contact Johnny Cronin on 087-1151461.

Mountcollins Bingo - A fundraiser Bingo will take place in Mountcollins Community Centre on Sunday, 11th February at 3.00 p.m.  €2,000 in prize money.  Your support would be greatly appreciated. 


Let’s Talk Family, Let’s be family – “how much better our family life would be if we used the words – Please, Thank You and I am sorry” Pope Francis.  Hear what else the Pope has to say about family life, listen to the views of others and if you wish, have your own say too.  Join the Parish Conversation on the family for the next 6 Wednesday nights.  Call to Meelin Hall on Wednesday night at 8.30 p.m. for the first conversation. 


The Conference of Bishops have designated Friday, 16th February, the First Friday of Lent as a day of prayer for survivors and victims of abuse.  We are all invited to pray for this intention on the day.


A Pro Life meeting will be held in the CYMS hall, Newmarket on Wednesday night February 21st at 8.00 p.m.  Guest speaker Mr. Joe Walsh of the Life Institute.  All welcome. 


Come and See – thinking about Priesthood? An event for men discerning Priesthood aged 18 – 40 to ‘come and see’ on 23rd & 24th February in the Pallotine College, Thurles from 6.00 p.m. on Friday to 3.00 p.m. Saturday.  Beginning on Friday with dinner at 6.00 p.m. followed by informal chat, discussion and prayer.  Stay overnight and on the Saturday morning there will be prayer, breakfast and discussion.  There will also be time for Adoration with Mass at 11.30 a.m. followed by lunch, final discussion and departure at 3.00 p.m. advance booking is required.  Event is free of charge .  Please contact Fr.
